After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we finally returned to the Algarve last week for our annual golf day at Dom Pedro Victoria Golf Course, Vilamoura.
Designed by the legendary professional golfer Arnold Palmer, the signature course played host to the 2005 WGC-World Cup and has hosted the Portugal Masters since 2007. Our Chairman Robert Guest and Joao Martins, Wealth Manager at Abacus Wealth Management, joined teams for a Texas Scramble.
Strong easterly winds, better known as levanter in the region, brought tricky conditions to the 18-hole course but that did not dampen the spirits of players who teed off and battled it out for the longest drive and closest pin.
The day ended at the Clubhouse with a prize-giving ceremony by Managing Director, Adrian Mansfield and Anne Darlington, our Business Development Director in Portugal, who awarded prizes including 1st (54), 2nd (52) and 3rd (53) respectively.
Anne added: “The turnout has been fantastic. It has been a great opportunity to get together again and catch up with our clients face to face. We are over the moon to finally host the event once more and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them all coming down on the day. We are already looking forward to start planning for next year’s event!”
